A Powerful Weekend
As I have been in the process of preparing to make the move from Innsbruck, Austria to Nürnberg, Germany in April, God provided a great opportunity for me this past weekend to travel up to Nürnberg again, in order to speak at their monthly U-Nite, as well as to continue to build relationships with the pastors, leaders, and students there. It was an awesome weekend!
The evening that I arrived, I attended a going away party for Kathi, the female student leader who left early this week for a year-long stint in the States. While a bitter-sweet moment, it was a blessing to see how tight-knit the group is! When they prayed for her, you could tell how much they love and support one another. God is definitely in their midst.
Friday evening was an incredibly powerful prayer meeting, both for the upcoming U-Nite, as well as for church on Sunday. You could literally feel God's presence! Not only do the members of our church there want to see things happen-God's Kingdom advanced--You can tangibly sense that God does, too! :-) In fact, one man who was having severe back-ache was prayed for and supernaturally healed! One of his legs that was shorter than the other grew to the same length as the other, right before our eyes! God did a miracle! And He is going to do more . . .
Thus, from Friday's prayer meeting on into Saturday, U-Nite, everyone remained fired-up and expectant to see God do even more! All throughout worship practice that morning, take-down and set-up that afternoon, there was an ease and lightness of heart among the group that came from a sense of unity and trust in the Lord.
That evening, we were not disappointed. After an awesome worship time, I was able to share a Gospel message that came out of my heart and my life, using my testimony as past figure skater. And well, I shared in German! (if you want to hear my message, simply go to www.u-nite.eu, media, and U-Nite messages, and you can download my sermon) Following that, Lenny, the leader of U-Nite, closed out the meeting with a powerful conclusion, and we proceeded to speak and minister to those who attended the meeting that night. Many many hearts were touched and we heard great testimonies of how their lives were impacted through what God did that night. Yeah! And, I was doubly encouraged through it all knowing that the relationships that were started that night will continue to grow when I move there next month!
The weekend carried on with a powerful Sunday service where people were once again touched mightily by God through a powerful message shared by Sergei, a Ukrainian leader in the church, as well as prayer afterwards. There is absolutely no doubt that God has some enormous plans--and is carrying them out-- for this church, this city, and this country! I am really humbled and honored to know that I will soon be a part of it all!
The rest of the weekend, then, through Tuesday midday, saw opportunites for me to build more with the leaders, to look at a potential apartment, as well as to continue working towards my upcoming move. All I could do on my drive home that afternoon was praise God for a powerful weekend, His mighty plans, and an exciting, Kingdom advancing, God-honoring future! God is so good! (pictures below)
